Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Nia LP Reporting Platform answered.

Getting started

How do I get access?

Access is by invitation only. The Nia team sends an invitation email when your account is ready. Click the link in the email to sign in.

My sign-in link has expired. How do I get a new one?

Go to the sign-in page, enter your email address, and request a fresh link. Links expire after a short period for security.

Can multiple people on my team use the platform?

Yes. Go to Settings → Members and invite colleagues by email. Each person receives an invitation link and can sign in independently once they accept.

Why can't I see the reporting screens?

LP Reporting needs the Full plan and to be switched on for your fund by Nia. See Plans & tiers.

LP Reporting

Do my investees or LPs log in?

No. The platform is built for fund managers. Your team uploads investee data, and you download reports and send them to your LPs yourself.

What file formats can I upload?

LP templates: Excel, CSV, Word, PDF, and screenshots (PNG/JPG). Investee and fund submissions: Excel, CSV, Word and PDF.

Will the generated report look like my LP's own template?

For Excel templates, yes — the workbook is filled in place with its fonts, styles, layout and number formats preserved. Word and PDF templates can be read for KPI extraction, but a report against them is produced in a generic platform layout. See Reports.

Can I undo a KPI merge?

No. There is no merge history and no undo — reversing a merge means re-creating the KPI by hand. Check the pair before confirming. See KPI Mapping.

Does the platform decide anything about my data on its own?

Extraction and matching are proposed, never applied. Every extracted KPI and every suggested field binding waits for a person to confirm it.

Can I load data from before we started using the platform?

Fund-level data, yes — one workbook covering several past periods can be imported in a single pass, with a preview before anything is written. Investee submissions are still one period at a time, and period pickers currently reach back two years. See GP Data.

When does the reporting period change?

Never on a calendar date. It changes when you change it, or automatically when a cycle completes — based on the template's declared frequency. See Reporting periods.

Advisor

Are my Advisor conversations private?

Conversations are held within your fund's workspace and are not shared with other organisations. They are retained for twelve months, then purged automatically along with their attachments.

What languages does the Advisor support?

The Advisor is primarily optimised for English; responses in other languages may vary.

Why did the Advisor refuse my question?

If it says it does not have enough verified information, your question falls outside Nia's knowledge base. The Advisor does not speculate. For topics outside its scope, contact the Nia team.

Can I ask about a policy I haven't uploaded yet?

Not from the Policy Hub corpus — upload it first and wait for it to be indexed. You can, however, attach a document directly to a conversation (Word, PDF or Excel, up to 50 pages) and ask about it there.

Why does a citation say "internal source" instead of naming the document?

Passages from Nia's own knowledge base are shown to fund users under a neutral internal-source label. Your own uploaded documents are always named. See Citations & Sources.

Policy Hub

What file formats can I upload?

Word (.docx) and PDF (.pdf).

My document has been showing "Pending" for a while. What should I do?

Processing usually takes a few moments. If it stays pending for more than a few minutes, refresh. If it persists, contact the Nia team with the document name.

Will the gap review rewrite my policy?

No. Gap reviews are advice-only — the report identifies gaps and suggests improvements, and never modifies your document.

What if my gap review fails?

You will see a Failed status with an error message. The AI run is still counted — it is reserved when the review starts and is not refunded on failure. Trying again uses another run.

How do I know if a gap is critical?

Each gap carries a severity: High, Medium or Low. Your team decides what to prioritise.

Runs and plans

What counts as an AI run?

Advisor questions, gap reviews, template parsing, AI report narrative, and parsing a data submission or GP-data file that needs the external document parser all consume runs from the same monthly allowance. A run spent on document parsing is returned if the parser fails before returning a result. The Data Quality Check itself does not consume a run (unless it runs on an uploaded file that needs the external parser), re-running the check on — or submitting — an unchanged file that was already parsed successfully does not use another run, and uploading, mapping, approving and downloading consume nothing. See Usage Caps.

I'm running low on runs. What should I do?

Contact the Nia team to discuss your usage — options include upgrading your plan.

When does my run count reset?

On the first of each month.
